Café Santiago

Officially founded in 1959, Café Santiago was, over time, undergoing several renovations, leaving at present almost nothing of its original decoration. The current owners, Mr. Fernando Pereira and Mrs. Isabel Ferreira, acquired the entire establishment in 1993, giving a new life to the space.

Café Santiago is now a traditional Portuguese restaurant that is already a case of national and international notoriety due to its famous Francesinhas. Francesinha Santiago has always been her main reference. Made with carefully selected ingredients, in a 100% handmade process and with the so famous and delicious special sauce whose recipe is a well-kept family secret.

In addition to the Francesinha, you can also taste “Prego em Prato” or “Prego no Pão”, Santiago´s Hotdog or traditional homemade food, such as the “Tripas à moda do Porto”, Rojões (seasoned pieces of pork loin) or “Cabrito” roasted in the oven, and The homemade vegetable soups.

With an average price of €13 per person, Café Santiago receives hundreds of customers every year that comes to taste its delicious delicacy.
