Galeria Pedro Oliveira

At Calçada de Monchique, Galeria Pedro de Oliveira focuses on art marked by a contemporary line with a conceptual trend, promoting a small and limited group of Portuguese and foreign artists. Initially founded as Galeria Roma e Pavia in 1980 in Porto, this gallery already had an alternative space in Rua Miguel Bombarda, aimed at particular projects, ending its activity after sixty-three exhibitions. The gallery has also represented artists in art markets and expositions in Portugal and abroad.
It currently has three exhibition halls, which I suggest the readers visit. There is something in contemporary art that privileges the disruptive and independent way of actions, which inevitably becomes a cultural agent. Here you will find painting, photography, drawing, video and sculpture. Among others, the gallery has represented artists such as: Carlos Lobo, Cecília Costa, Joana Pimentel and Jorge Molder.
Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm. Free entry.
