Adega São Nicolau

Located on the street with the same name, right on the river bank in Ribeira, the Adega de São Nicolau is a typical restaurant with dishes of traditional Portuguese cuisine.

With a renewed decoration with walls and ceiling lined with light wood, and with a warm and intimate light, it also has a small outdoor terrace with a delightful view of the Douro River and the Serra do Pilar, giving it the status of a privileged place for excellence.

Despite being a traditional cuisine restaurant, the menu mainly depends on what is available on the market daily and the cook's imagination. However, this typical house offers very well-prepared regional dishes as well as a good wine list. With an average price of €20 per person, some of their specialties are the Little whitebaits with tomato rice, octopus rice, “Tripas à moda do Porto” or Steak mirandesa.
